State Fair #1 down, MBQ Audition Information

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the fair yesterday! We were fortunate to have nice (cool!) weather, and a big crowd. If you missed it, stop by next Sunday at 11:00 @ the MPR stage, or watch the online stream here!

The updated audition information for the MacPhail Brass Quintet is available now here as a .pdf or by visiting MacPhail's website .

What we've been up to this summer...

If it seems like The CSBQ website had been stagnant for a while, that's because we were hard at work at what you see here.  After a few months of intense work (or as my friend Ruth says "clicking and dragging"), our new-look website is finally up and running!  Take a minute to look around and learn more about what we are up to, meet our new members, or take a listen to some tunes.

We've also been busy welcoming our new members, Nick Adragna on Tuba and Ed Hong on trumpet.  These two excellent musicians joined us in the spring, and we've had a blast learning new tunes and showing them the ropes :)  And if you are wondering where Corbin and Stefan are, all is well.  Stefan is soon heading out west to CalArts to begin a Master's degree in composition, and Corbin has decided to move on to other professional pursuits here in town but will still perform with us on occasion.  We are incredibly grateful for the chance to have performed with both of them, and wish them the best in the future!

Finally, we are gearing up for our annual performance at the Minnesota State Fair.  If you can't make it down either this Sunday (the 28th) or next, be sure to check out our performance on MPR's online stream @ http://www.mpr.org/statefair. These shows are always a highlight of our summer, and we hope to see you there!  - AH
